Peamount Utd have won the WNL 2020 by beating Shelbourne 3-1

Peamount United clinched back-to-back Women’s National League titles tonight thanks to a 3-1 win at home to Shelbourne. Having gone 0-1 down to a tough Shelbourne side the experience showed in the ranks of the Peamount team. They didn’t panic and went about their business in true Peamount form. A fantastic free kick from the edge of the box by Áine O’Gorman brought Peamount level. Another set piece, a corner, saw a great header from Karen Duggin put Peamount in the lead 2-1. Áine O’Gorman wrapped up the game with a strike inside the box from another corner. Now the double is on with Peamount set to meet Cork in the FAI Cup Final. Cork beat Treaty United 2-0 to secure their place in the final. The result returns Cork to the final for the first time since wining the Cup in 2017. Peamount had a 1-0 win at Wexford Youths.
